How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
You'll quit and be back home before the end of the semester.
How I responded:
Those words really stung when I heard them. Even though I was really homesick, overwhelmed, and wanted to quit, I could not bear the pain of "I told you so." I developed the attitude of "Get out of my way! I'll show you!" I remained in college until I had my master's degree.
