High School Choir Teacher
I teach students how to read music, perform in groups, solos, musicals, show choir productions and good vocal technique.
A typical day at work involves me teaching 5 to 6 classes a day. Each class is a different choir, consisting of different music, different levels of learning, different languages spoken, different demographics of students, and different behaviors. I have to teach each class, music theory, musicianship, the music itself, music history, vocal technique, recording, music industry knowledge, abs life skills.
Here's the first step for college students
Make sure you are in it for the students.
"Some discouragement that I have learned on my road to success has been, "you aren't good enough", "you won't make money!", "They might not hire someone that looks like you", "You aren't talented enough.""
Yes.
I believe one of the hardest parts of my job is knowing that I am responsible for educating the future generation.
I enjoy the instant satisfaction I receive from witnessing my students accomplish things.
I was attracted to this career due to my initial interest in choir and music.
