Audit Staff

I audit healthcare companies. I mainly test Revenue and Receivables, the testing of which is industry-specific.

Day to Day

Every day is different in audit. Every week (and sometimes within the same week) I am going to a different client's office. Although I am typically auditing the same areas at all the clients, each client is different. Even auditing within a specialized industry (Healthcare), I find so many differences from client to client. My knowledge from one audit can help me on the next one, though. Even though they may have many differences, it all just boils down to numbers and how they got there.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for everyone

I highly recommend job shadows. This is how I got my foot in the door for my first internship (not audit), which only helped my resume when I applied for an audit internship. Additionally, I highly recommend to go to honor society meetings and any extra events where you can meet people who are doing what you want to do. Even if you don't want to work where they work, they may be able to help you meet someone else who does work where you want to work. Always ask questions! Know your professors.
