1.
My favorite teacher in high school taught English, so I decide to study Secondary Education - english in College.
2.
Choosing a College. I chose York College because it was far enough away from home (2-hrs from Philly), but not too far that I could come home when needed.
3.
I only knew one person at college and he encouraged me to try out for a play. From there I joined Residence Life and between the two organizations, I met some of my best friends.
4.
I changed to Communication because it allowed me to be more flexible in my studies. I learned video production, theatre, writing, audio recording and more! But I never concentrated in any one area.
5.
After college, I worked in Banking. Not fun working with people's money or their food (I was a sandwich artist ). After 2 yrs, a friend from college helped me discover college admissions!
6.
Admission is a job you can love, hate or enjoy for now. For me it was what I was looking for in a career - working in a positive environment, meeting new people and traveling.

How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
"Don't you want to move up in your profession? Don't you want to be Provost or President of a University? You could make a lot more money!"
How I responded:
If you want to work in Higher Education and you enjoy meeting and working with students and their family members, then find the right level of work that fits best and learn everything you can! I like having administration duties and helping to guide the direction we go towards, but I still want to know the students interested in coming to our school. I want to speak face-to-face to parents and give them honest answers to their honest questions.
