Bottom line, the project(s) are running smoothly. Project team members clearly understand their roles and the work they must do to complete their project deliverables / tasks. Additionally, team members are coordinated in their work efforts. If issues arise, and they will, then the right team members work cohesively together to resolve the problem. This involves clear communications, teamwork and a drive to get the job done. At the end of the day, I feel like I have made a valuable contribution.
Advice for Getting Started
Here's the first step for college students
I worked in accounting (public and manufacturing cost accounting) for many years, gaining experience in varied accounting roles and management. Putting what you learn into practice and fully understanding the work you do and how it is valuable to the organization. After about 15 years, I moved into a role as an accounting representative on project teams, ensuring that changes were implemented correctly, then moved into managing projects & got my PMP (project mgt professional) certificate.
