My road in life has been direct.
First if it wasn't for my brother's untimely death in 2001 I wouldn't be in pest control.
Then I learned it's a great job and I LOVE being self employed.
Then my father has been sick for over 10 years so I took the business over 3 years ago.
And now I feel like I have career, love of my life, and animals that make me complete!!

First it would be the night before work calling my customers for the next day setting up my schedule. Then getting ready for the day in the morning, making sure I have my truck ready. My day consists of riding around my local area from house to house or business or church spraying the inside and outside of establisments to rid them of pests. Seeing wonderful people and talking to them.
Advice for Getting Started
Here's the first step for high school students
Be outgoing, don't be scared of bugs, have a great personality and excellent driving skills. You MUST be a people person and be willing to learn all about insects.

My career is not related to what I studied. I'd recommend this path instead:

From Parents:
"I think my negative noise would be my parents. We don't have the best relationship mainly dealing with the business and my life partner. They didn't want me to earn my license and start making my own money without having to give them a piece of it. Stress."
