I set up technology and marketing products for higher ed clients.
I check any emails that have come in from the night before and respond to client questions. If any FEDS tasks have been completed, I then QA them before I send the clients confirmations. I usually have 2-3 meetings with clients where I strategize how to best set up their products, based on their needs, and how to help them get the most out of the product. Throughout the day, I will also interact with my pod-mates to get ideas about how to best implement certain parts of the products.
You would need Client interaction stills - patience, tolerance, positive attitude. You will need to be able to articulate instructions clearly to the client so that they can understand what it is that you need from them. You will also need great organization skills to handle multiple client accounts at once, and not let anything drop.
Here's the first step for high school students
Take all of the elective classes that you can - technology, web design, HTML, marketing, public speaking, etc. Don't slack off and take the easy classes just for credit. Try to keep pushing yourself more. Join in as many clubs and activities as possible to get you used to interacting with all sorts of new people with different personalities and approaches.
Don't let people convince you not to major or study a subject that you truly have interest in because they don't think it will be a good carer path. You never know what the future will bring, so don't look to the past with regret.
