Milestones
My road in life has been direct.
First I saw my older sister have an awesome job in marketing.
Then I joined a marketing club in high school called DECA.
Then in college I majored in Business w / a concentration in marketing.
Then I landed a job as a marketing assistant at a CPG company.
Then the original owners of that first company started another and asked me to join them.
After I had my 1st kid, I started a blog and discovered a passion for writing.
Then they started yet another company and I went with them as marketing manager.
Then I got a call about my current job. Marketing & writing? It was an opportunity I couldn't refuse.

On any given day you will find me...writing content like blog posts, website copy, and / or emails, proof reading content that is set to go out, keeping a secondary eye on our social media channels and responding to people as necessary, researching various IT topics in order to accurately write content, helping run / come up with ideas for contests or campaigns to keep our social community engaged. Then of course there are the emails, meetings, and the like.
Advice for Getting Started
Here's the first step for college students
Start networking. In so many instances landing a great job (or any job for that matter) is all about connections you have.
