Milestones

My road in life took a while to figure out.
Worked doing phone technical support for Apple computers (before they were cool).
Stumbled into certification - someone sent me to a class by mistake.
Really thought teaching people would be cool.
"Jumped" by asking a training center what it would take to teach technology.
Did everything they said.

Day to Day

There is a whole lot of learning (studying different technologies), creating simple slides that help illustrate what I'm going to talk about, and a bunch of "fun recording" - creatively presenting different topics using a headset and a whiteboard to draw.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for high school students

The first step is to get involved in a technology. Set up something "cool" technologically at home. Ask your school staff if you can shadow the IT guy for a few minutes to see what he does. Set up a blog, a website...anything. The core motivation is to become exposed to it and gain a love for the technology - you'll only be really good at something you love to do.
