Milestones

My road in life has been direct.
I’ve loved planes since I was a child—I remember asking my parents when I was young how I could design planes for a living.
My parents discovered aeronautical and aerospace engineering and I took that and ran with it.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Wichita State University.
After graduating, I interned at Spirit AeroSystems as a design engineer.
I then was hired on full-time as a structural design engineer, where I primarily worked on various projects for Boeing.
After six years, I pivoted into human resources and took on the role of talent acquisition specialist for Spirit AeroSystems.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for high school students

Focus on taking a variety of math and science classes while in high school, including physics, chemistry, geometry, algebra, and calculus. When you get to college, I recommend majoring in mechanical engineering if you're not sure what exactly you want to do. Mechanical engineering is a very broad field of study and can open doors to a lot of different careers.
