Milestones

My road in life has been direct.
I grew up in Six Mile, a very small town in South Carolina, but was always very interested in traveling and learning about what was going on in the world beyond my hometown.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in marketing with a specialization in international business from the University of South Carolina.
My degree landed me in economic development, which is great because I get to utilize my skills and knowledge while traveling and seeing the world.
While working for the South Carolina Department of Commerce, I went back to school for my MBA with a concentration in international business.
I now work for Charleston Regional Development Alliance, where I get to travel and work with companies from around the world while also helping to boost and diversify our economy here.

Day to Day

I work with companies from all over the world that are interested in establishing or expanding a physical footprint in the Charleston region. This involves recruitment as well as acting as a liaison through the process. In a typical day I might meet with a Dutch company, do a planning session for an international marketing trip, follow up on prospective companies, run data analytics, and host a visiting company for dinner. My job is to be a constant resource for each company we work with.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for college students
