Skills & Education

Advice for getting started

Government, policy, and other impact jobs are all relationship-based careers. Even if it feels a little scary, you've got to reach out to try and make those connections. People are often more friendly on the other end than you may think. Try reaching out to someone on LinkedIn or email to ask for five minutes of their time to learn more about what they're doing.

Here's the path I took:

  • High School

  • Bachelor's Degree

    Political Science and Computer Science

    Dartmouth University

  • Doctorate

    Law

    Yale Law School

Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Society in general:

    Change is really hard.

  • How I responded:

A lot of people hold onto this sentiment that change is really hard. However, I had a mentor that impressed upon me that there is a lot more in the world that is fixable, changeable, and shapeable than people realize. Everything that exists around you, somebody came up with. So all of that is changeable. It's just a matter of effort.
