Advice for getting started
Don't be afraid to talk to people. If you're interested in a nursing specialty, call the hopsital and ask if there's a nurse educator you can talk to. Ask them what a day in the life looks like. It's incredibly important information and can vary between hospitals.

My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
I earned a master's in clinical psychology and spent 12 years working in the mental health field.
2.
After my first child was born with special needs, I paused my career to focus on family.
3.
During that time, I reflected deeply and decided to pursue a second career in nursing.
4.
I completed my nursing degree and did nearly all my clinicals at Memorial Regional Hospital.
5.
Right out of school, I was offered two positions at Memorial and chose the Family Birthplace Center because it just felt right.
6.
I started as a labor and delivery nurse, later training in the operating room and obstetrical ER.
7.
My leaders saw potential in me and encouraged me to step into leadership—now I’m a clinical manager.
