Day to Day

A typical day is super busy for me because I have a lot of departments and especially right now coming out of the pandemic. A typical day includes meetings, troubleshooting issues related to Departments that I oversee, interfacing with our city manager and our council, and making sure that we are making progress on the things that have been prioritized and deemed as important. Simply put, I keeping everything moving forward in order to continue hitting benchmarks and achieving success.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for college students

I would say that focusing on your education is important, but also trying to get an internship. I believe many students are unsure of their path or maybe they don't even know what's possible. I think internships are important for that reason. I meet with people all the time to provide career advice. For more information on internships, contact the Human Resources department to inquire about opportunities to shadow and get a better understanding of careers.

Hurdles

The Noise I Shed

From Myself:

"I don't know that I experienced true discouragement but coming out of high school I thought I was going to be a medical doctor. I ended up going to college for environmental studies, working in communities and continuing an education in public admin."

Q&A

What do you enjoy doing on your free time?

Asked by Anthony at Roadtrip Nation

A lot of my time is spent with my husband and children when I am not working. We love to travel a lot and we love nature, so we love going to different places like Zion as a place where we can relax and do outdoor activities like hike.
