Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Family:

You won't make a lot of money as a teacher.

  • How I responded:

I've always been able to find work and teaching has opened doors to other opportunities. In addition to teaching, I've written and edited textbooks, conducted professional development for teachers and have an online store of science resources that are downloaded worldwide. In addition, I've had the opportunity to mentor many great kids and adults along the way!

Experiences and challenges that shaped me
