Milestones

My road in life took a while to figure out.
I tried to get an Economics Major at UCSB.
then I didn't get into the major and transferred to Cal State University of Northridge.

Day to Day

A great day for me would be getting to work an hour early (around 8am). Then I would have a cup of coffee with a bagel. After I would start working on my prior day's tasks (whether that is populating a work paper, or performing a test of the client's controls). By the end of the day, I would have finished my work and sent it up for review to my senior or manager. I would get my work back with notes and close all of the ones open. Since I came in to work early, I will get to leave an hour early.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for college students

Meet people. Your peers studying in the same field as you are going to be your most valuable assets. You should be studying with them and participating with them in accounting events (if you college hosts accounting events). The people in your classes will be the same people you will be recruiting with. Some of them will get great jobs and can help you advance your own career. MEET PEOPLE!
