Milestones

My road in life has taken me all over.
I graduated UVA with a B.S in Architecture and applied to graduate school in Civil Engineering.
I graduated for the second time from UVA with a Master in Engineering (Civil Engineering).
My first job after graduation was as a Project Engineer for a global construction company.
My next job was as a Project Manager at a global technology company. I attended law school at night.
After law school, I passed 4 bar exams and lived in 3 different cities within a 3 year period.
I decided to transition out of practicing law and began researching career options.
I joined Deloitte in 2008 as a Manager in our Capital Projects (construction) practice.
Seven years later, I lead projects involving complex financial transactions and investigations.

Day to Day

Every day is different. This variety is what I love best about what I do. I work on some activities daily. My time is primarily spent using my laptop to draft e-mails to clients and colleagues or participate on conference calls. The focus of each day is how can my team serve our client better. My team is geographically dispersed but technology helps us stay connected. In the evenings, I may attend a client hosted event or other industry programs to continue to build my external network.
