My role includes helping my colleagues determine what can go wrong in our operations (i.e., the "risk") and actions that can be taken and measures we can put in place to reduce those risks (i.e., controls). Helping a colleague find an innovative way to reduce risk and improve controls would make my day.

Here's the first step for college students
An auditing position with a public accounting firm or internal audit department of a large corporation will provide the foundation in operational controls needed for my occupation.
