Milestones

My road in life took a while to figure out.
First I transitioned from hospitality to real estate consulting.
I moved back to Houston and joined Capital One, where now I invest in housing funds.
Then I transitioned to banking when I got laid off (along with many) due to a merger.
I moved to Louisville for a bank real estate underwriting job in tax credit affordable housing.

Day to Day

Generally my day includes: - Reviewing investments in affordable housing to see which fits our requirements for CRA. These investments are for apartments that will provide valuable housing to low income families across the country. This could include evaluating their markets, how the individual deals are structured, and how this fits into our social responsibility and community investment goals. - I work with Communications to share stories of development successes and unique deals.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for high school students
