Milestones

My road in life has been direct.
I fell in love with pop music early and started voice lessons at age 9.
Then I started participating in community theatre at 10 years old.
I began writing at 15 and started teaching myself to play the guitar at 18.
I started playing my original music anywhere I could.
I saved money and recorded an acoustic EP at 22.
I realized the acoustic sound wasn't the pop sound I wanted, but I didn't know any pop producers.
So I began teaching myself how to produce on my own by watching YouTube videos.
I put myself out there (mostly at conferences) and have been working with other writers since!

Day to Day

A great day for me is working on multiple projects in a day - it means I'm doing something right if I have a lot going on! I'd be doing some writing on my own, working on a track or two, and having a writing session with a co-writer via Google Hangout. I'd also be sending out a few e-mails here and there, trying to follow-up with different connections I've made throughout my travels.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for middle school students

START! It's the hardest part. Take voice lessons, watch YouTube videos about production, and write as much as you can.
