Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Parents:
You should just be happy with who you are. My mother used to say to me that not everybody could be what I wanted to be.
How I responded:
The outside noise just made me more determined to prove them wrong. No matter what it took, no matter what I had to "clean" I was going to succeed. Along the way I had helping hands because people saw how determined I was
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I was not a good student and earned very poor grades in my classes. The only way I could overcome it was to be willing to work harder then the next person.
