Milestones

My road in life took a while to figure out.
I became very curious about the (then nascent) internet.
Looked into grad school options.
Found a program that was very interesting.
Found out that you can go to grad school cheap if you become a teaching assistant.
Studied hard, and learned a lot of theoreticals behind how the internet works.
Learned tactical skills like coding, interactive design, and web optimization principles.
Moved to New York and took any interactive design job I could find.

Day to Day

These days, it's working with the internal creative and development teams to come up with new ideas about how to present brand messages using interactive treatments. I also speak with a lot of media agencies about what's possible in interactive mediums (desktop, mobile, tablet, connected TV).

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for high school students

It helps if you have a natural curiosity about the subject. If you're interested in something, learn about it. Understand what makes it work. Figure out the fundamentals. From there, natural opportunities will present themselves.

Recommended Education

undergrad
Bachelor
certification
Certification/License
