Milestones

My road in life has been direct.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in sales and marketing.
After graduating, I started my career in technical sales.
I eventually realized that my passion actually lied in education, so I decided to make a career change.
I began my career in education as a math and business teacher.
I taught for nine years and then moved into an assistant principal role.
As assistant principal, I started more as a dean and managed some curricular activities, and then I transitioned to serving in more of an assistant to the principal role.
After that, I moved up to serve as a principal, which I did for about 10 years.
I then moved up to superintendent—I started as the superintendent of a small school district, then a mid-sized district, and now I’m superintendent of the largest public school district in Indiana.
Keep following my journey

Working with Others

Day to Day

As superintendent, I'm essentially the CEO of the school district. I spend a lot of time in meetings with cabinet-level employees. I also spend time working on things like DEI efforts in the district. I work to make sure we're embracing all students, parents, and community members. When I'm not in meetings, I'm processing and prioritizing emails and the issues and tasks they bring forward.

Advice for Getting Started
