Advice for getting started
To work as a school counselor, you'll need to get your bachelor's and master's degrees, and complete internship hours. Other than that, I think a lot of people overcomplicate the process. You really just need a kind heart and a desire to work with kids. If you want to work with youth and have an impact on their future, then I encourage you to look at the programs that will allow you to do that.
Here's the path I took:
- High School
- Bachelor's Degree - Psychology - San Jose State University
- Graduate Degree - School Counseling - University of San Francisco
