Milestones

My road in life has taken me all over.
I was born and raised in Richmond, Texas.
I went to community college and earned my associate degree in liberal arts.
I was going to transfer to the University of Houston but I started making bad decisions and lost focus.
I started working in construction and started my own small business as a subcontractor, but I was still making negative lifestyle choices.
After causing an accident at work, I decided to try a different path and go to trade school.
I went to Texas State Technical College and graduated from the electrical power and control program.
I now work for a plastic pipe manufacturer doing electrical and mechanical maintenance—not only do I love the job, but I’m also able to provide more than enough for my family!

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for everyone

If you're thinking about going to trade school, I highly recommend jumping in. Take that leap. Face the challenge with your head high. It'll take effort and sacrifice. I had to sacrifice time with my family in order to work while going to school at the same time, but it's worth it. After graduating from trade school, I'm now in a job I love and am finally able to sufficiently provide enough for my family.
